CETIA is an innovation platform dedicated to the automated sorting and disassembly of end-of-life or unsold textiles and footwear. Its mission is to develop, test, and scale up technological solutions that transform complex products into valuable resources for the recycling industry.
Founded in 2021 by ESTIA, the engineering school of the Bayonne Basque Country Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), and CETI, the European platform for textile experimentation and industrialization, CETIA was created with the aim of accelerating the development of a competitive textile-to-textile recycling sector in Europe.
The work carried out at CETIA combines technological development, prototyping, fine-tuning, and industrial testing on pilot production lines. CETIA brings together an innovation ecosystem that includes companies, researchers, and institutional partners in France and around the world.
THE TEAM
The CETIA team is made up of engineers with complementary expertise—in textiles, robotics, machine vision, artificial intelligence, and industrial processes—who are dedicated to developing practical solutions for recycling textiles and footwear. We design and develop technical systems and processes for sorting and disassembly, with a strong focus on field testing and prototyping.
Our ambition is to turn complex technical challenges into operational solutions that have been tested and can be scaled up for industrial production.
