Textiles Recycling Expo: Catalyzing Innovation for a Circular Textile Industry
CETIA participated in the Textiles Recycling Expo—the first European trade show entirely dedicated to textile recycling—held in Brussels on June 4 and 5, 2025. This international event, which brought together more than 3,300 professionals from the textile value chain representing 67 countries, has established itself as an essential venue for networking, technology demonstrations, and discussions on the sector’s transition to a circular economy.
A platform for professional networking and meetings
This event brought together manufacturers, recyclers, innovation specialists, institutions, brands, and technical experts from the textile sector, all united around the themes of recycling and circularity. The conferences, workshops, and exhibition areas provided a unique setting for discussing current challenges, sharing best practices, and identifying the most promising technologies for increasing textile recycling rates on an industrial scale.
CETIA at the center of discussions on circular innovation
The CETIA team was fully engaged throughout the two-day event. While at the trade show, they held numerous meetings with European players in the textile recycling sector, establishing many contacts and engaging in fruitful discussions about the technological solutions developed by the center to improve the efficiency of sorting and processing end-of-life textiles.
This participation also provided an opportunity to highlight CETIA’s role as an innovation platform that promotes the industrialization of automated sorting and material preparation solutions, at a time when the regulatory and economic challenges of textile recycling are rapidly evolving.
A collective effort to transform the industry
The Textiles Recycling Expo highlighted the importance of a collective, multi-stakeholder approach to advancing circularity in the textile sector. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, from optical and spectroscopic sorting technologies to strategies for integrating recycled materials into production cycles, as well as issues related to traceability and eco-design.
CETIA’s involvement is part of this initiative, underscoring the center’s commitment to supporting companies, institutions, and collaborative projects in developing concrete, scalable solutions to address the challenges of textile recycling.
